Re: [bolger] Re: Bedliner for Floor of Hull?

If I used it for the waste tanks, I'd epoxy/glass first. Do you think it would adhere to sanded epoxy?

My parent company, "Dominion Sure Seal" makes these products. They're
available in Canada under the brand names Hippo Liner and Gator
Guard. There's a link from our head office site www.rustcheck.com to
DSS.

I've only used them at a new product seminar. They come in a do it
yourself roll on kit for about $40. It comes with a special aerated
roller leaving a textured surface and a coat that's about 1/4" thick.
Easy. I don't know how well it would adhere to plywood in the
longterm, but I suspect it would cling better tha paint. It certainly
is waterproof. Avail. in black or white, and gray can be made by
mixing them.

I would be interested too if anyone has used this stuff to protect the insides of water tanks and such. I'm thinking of building in the waste tanks on the Wyoming but have a fear of wood rot. I have talked to the spray on liner companies and they all claim that it's completely immune to septic, fuel, gasoline, etc.

Have you seen the pick-up bedliner which comes in a can and you paint it on,
I think?

The stuff looks tough and is designed to protect a pick-up truck bed. Why not
protect the floor of my hull? Has anyone tried it? Comments?

I'll be trying it on my Micro.

the vinyl is sensitive to abrasion. bumps are OK but scrapes will
tear and let water get under it. it does have its place though. it
is great for finishing rope ends.

da
Thought about using it as an EXternal coating too. That "Rhino Liner"
commercial intrigues me. Seems to be a rubber type liner. Inherently
waterproof and if it is as tough as they say, good for a boat subject
to banging against gravel and rocks. Might be a little heavy though.
Any thoughts?

Or underneath instead of fiberglass?

I think it takes about a hundred dollars worth to coat a
truck bed.
Another one to wonder about is that thick vinyl tool handle
paint, though also not cheap and might be a little heavy.
