Re: folding schooner in Oz Ironic update
Oh, I guess you're right. But if he can't paint he has time to do the
waterpump himself, saving enough money for half the paint! Plus
getting the truck back a day sooner. Easy for me to say....

I think what Paul meant was he only had enough spare cash for the paint, and
the waterpump was exactly the same price as the paint and he would rather
replace the waterpump than walk for the rest of the week .

Snippo !
Is it because you need to get the paint to the boat? Surely you can
borrow a handcart or the kid next door's little red wagon to move the
paint? I often use a handcart to move tools or materials back and
forth a quarter mile to the garage I rent for boatbuilding. It's just
too silly to drive when I need the walk anyway to loosen up my back.
It's possible to replace the water pump yourself, but I guess you
probably have enough projects. I wouldn't recommend changing the pump
on a Ford Fiesta yourself, though. Quite unpleasant, though doable. On
a truck instead of something with a transverse engine I'd expect you'd
have all this glorious room to work with instead of having to pry the
motor away from the wheel well.

A funny thing happened on the way to the paint shop today.
i finally finished sanding the second hull of the schooner and with
10 minutes to closing time I jumped in the truck and headed to the
paint shop , some 400 metres up the road. as I revved the truck to
beat traffic i heard a grindy crunchy noise. I pulled into the
carpark and lifted the engine cover . Water pump , Bloodywater pump.
Whilst at the counter buying the paint for my boat I wwas on the
Mobile to the Kia dealer pricing the pump And SNAP , same price! TO
THE DOLLAR. And so to my new Ironic theory of life
BOAT PAINT= WATERPUMP= TOOLAZYTOOWALK ( BP =WP=2LZ2wlk)
Not only do I have to walk for the next couple of days , I cant
paint!!
