[bolger] Re: Navigator Frames

Rennie permenent sawn frame might be a good idea maybe just the framing from
the original bulkhead? I think that was 3/4 X 2 1/2 . See how the tiller is
well under the sheer line see how the new rear bulkhead is solid from about
the sheer up?its like the original bulkhead b from the sheer down it was,nt
solid all the way to the floor/bottom i would use the original bulkhead as a
gfor cutting the companionway hole. Phils original artcle in maib states
full protection and dry working/living quarters that be kinda hard with the
aft end open:):) D.W.Johnson
DW,

I'm with you. What do you think about a permanent sawn frame at position B,
webbed at the chine and extending above the shear to support the ceiling.
Might be useful. I don't know whether or not the frame at maximum beam is a
requirement for structural reasons.

How do you interpret the plans as they pertain to the aft end of the cabin?
Is the entire aft end of the cabin open? Seam that it must be to allow the
tiller to swing so far to each side.

Greetings one and all,

I've just joined the group. I was referred by Phil when he forwarded
my set of micro plans. I'm going to build the navigator version using
a traditional junk main since I've already got one of an appropriate
size. How some ever I've got some questions.

The original micro has a bow transom, frame A, frame B, frame C and the
after transom. Frame B is at the point of maximum beam and at the aft
end of the cuddy. Since Navigator's house extends much further aft,
what have any of you done to replace frame B? The Navigator add-on
sheet is long on drawings, but short on dimensions.
