Just wordplay. Also spelled Askew. It does occur to me that it might
also be taken as some kind of reference to a Q ship. If this boat
performs at all well it will be more capable than its appearance.

I don't know about that Bruce,those guys are rather sensitive about

begin to worry when I see law enforcement wearing sunglasses,at
night,in their cars.....)
Outside of Québec,however,it means nothing I suspect.
Now,as to naming a"crooked boat",perhaps Ress-Q,WOUNDED KNEE,AM NOT!
or even HONEST,JUDGE! might work.
Maybe Lincoln could clue us in on what he had in mind with SQ in the
first place?

I'm not sure I WANT to name a boat after them, particularly since I
don't know anything about them. I suppose that except possibly at the
Champlain Messabout it won't be a problem. Perhaps any two letters
would have some other connotation like this. Will have to ponder.

"Sierra Quebec" in NATO phonetic alphabet is "Securite de Quebec" to
everyone in Quebec. As in "Today on the freeway the SQ arrested....",
that kind of thing. I don't think the Quebec Provincial Police would
mind having a boat named after them, especially using their French
moniker.
