Re: 2002 VERMONT MESSABOUT DETAILS

Dear FBBB,
I am quite disappointed that I cannot attend the messabout this
year. Job, and family commitments have taken control of Saturday the
17th and the following Monday. There is no way I can drive to
Charlotte, VT. for a messabout from Boston and back in one day.

I will be playing with my Micro in Chatham, MA from July 27-August
10th if someone cares to do some sailing. I highly recommend
Pleasant Bay, it is a wonderful place for small boats with lots of
coves to explore. Hopefully, "Firefly" should be sailable by then.
I am looking forward to exploring Pleasant Bay, and the Stage
Harbor/Monomoy areas then. I have not been out to Monomoy for at
least 15 years due to the deeper draft of my former boat.

If it would stop raining at the same time I have time, the sailing
rig and painting would be done. I think installing the berth flats
might be a good idea. I hate sleeping on a wet floor.

Regrets,
David Jost

Peter Lenihan wanted me to post details for the Vermont Messabout.
The dates are August 17 and 18. Some may arrive the 16th which is
fine.
The place is Point Bay Marina, Charlotte,Vt. Their phone number is
1-802-425-2431. Do search for the marina, there is no website for
them but other info is available. Each participant will need to call
and make reservations for a slip in the marina if you need one. The
fee is $1.00 per foot per night. The marina is full service
including showers and fuel, some snacks are available. There is a
ramp available for launching. There is a small camping area for
tents. There are no hookups or pumpouts for RV's but they can stay
in the parking areas if they hold their water. There is a picnic
area with tables and grills and a shoreline area for launching small
craft. We can gather on that shoreline. Restaurants are within 5
miles of the marina. The Maritime Museum is south of the marina
easily reached by boat or land. I'd be glad to tow a bevie of small
craft there with my Sneakeasy if some would like.
Please post the following info. Name and type of boat(s) attending,
what you need for accommodations, and how many souls are coming. We
need to give the Marina an idea of the size and makeup of the
group.

Hope to see you there!!
