RE: as29 leaks

In the interest of completeness:

I've been restoring my AS29. There were leaks at all four ends of
the bilgeboard cases, with cracking of the fiberglass sheathing at
the point where the vertical timber frame met the ply bottom. Re-
gluing and sheathing with several layers of 9 oz. glass has
apparently cured this (6 months on). There was also leaking from
an undetermined point near waterline inside one bilgeboard box,
apparently from a minute failure of the seam of the inside ply panel
and the vertical end post. That has been stopped up with PE glue
for the time being, at next haulout I'll see if I can re-tape the inside
of the bilgeboard box ends that far into the case.

In the bow well, there was/is minor leakage into the flotation tanks
in heavy rain, apparently from the joint between the tabernacle
uprights and the inner tank face and/or vertical timber.

I don't have any problem at the #1 bulkhead/bottom joint,
apparently because the builder used about 3/16" of fiberglass
reinforcement at this spot. That's not a bad notion... ;-)

There were no bottom leaks aft of the bilgeboard cases.
