I am not too sure I understand the detail, but why not
some hardware bonded ss studs, that come up through
the side of the spar, with cap nuts on top? If the
gougeons can hold on the roots of 80' blades that way,
why not?

Great idea. The jib isn't particular large, so I don't see the sprit
being heavily loaded anyway.

I am making preparations for the construction of a Bolger Light
Schooner to be started in September - I'm out of the country for the
next 3 months, so that is my earliest start date.
To simplify towing, I have considered making the bowsprit removable
slotting it under clamps - well-epoxied and bolted down. Has anybody
out here any advice in this regard?
