Some of both, I beveled the planks [if
you can call 1/8" plywood a plank!] by
eyeballing the lines, and grinding
with my belt sander. I also didn't
fuss much about messing up, and used
Bondo auto body filler where and when
needed. Also, with 1/8" plywood it is
hard to get gaps larger than 1/8" and
the "gorilla glue" expands into such
a gap easily.
Lookin' better all the time, Bruce.

You're putting on the 'sheer strake.' In the old days, when they planked up from the keel
and down from the sheer, the very last one was called the 'shutter plank.'

BTW Do your pictures show you didn't bevel or cut gains in the planks, just ran them past
the stem and joggled transom, then filled the gaps w/ glop?

Bolger drew an Ultralight Rowboat for old SBJ, built with 1/8th ply, that worked like
that. Guess you proved it works.

Don't look too close, lots of goofs and goobers. If you stand back
and squint it, is looking more like a boat.

Still have not weighed it. Weighs more that before, but I can lift
and carry it easily by balancing the center seat on my shoulders.
Less than 100 pounds.

The end is in sight, I am having the expected problem of deciding
what color(s) to paint.
