Re: Was Engine cooling now Jet Drive

Bombardier makes a jet drive RIB inflateable and they are REALLY
FAST. They are not cheap though...

Our toque wearing friends to the north know how to make a mean
machine!

I know the Bombardier Company Rep. here in San Diego and have been
out in a couple of these. They are really nice but out of my price
range.

Enjoy,

... also useful for surf rescue boats -- no propellor to injure swimmers.

A few months ago I saw a small hardbottom inflatable on a trailer
that had a small jet drive. I didn't get a chance to talk with the
owner but it looked like a very professional job. It had a very small
motor cover in the stern and looked to be a huge improvement over an
outboard motor installation.

I have come to the conclusion that small jet drives would also be
excellent for auxiliary drives in sail boats. Some applications
require props but when drag and shallow draft are priorities jet
drives are a perfect solution.

That's a great site. There would be quite a few Bolger designs that could use
this approach e.g. Diablo (as shown there), Microtrawler, Fast Motorsailer,
Sneakeasy.
