Final Test Sail
I took my Windsprint trimaran out for a final test sail in the nearby lake
before I venture out on the Puget Sound. The rigging is perfect, the boat
handles beautifully, almost balanced helm, good steerage, plenty of bite from
the off center dagger board.
Chuck says he plans to run an article on the boat with pictures in mid July.
Sharp eyed readers will observe at least one rigging problem which I had to
correct. If there is more than one, I don't know what the others are.
My experience on the South Puget Sound near Olympia is much smoother water
than the local lake which is all chopped up by motor boats. I'm real excited
to get out there in a nice breeze. But even tonight's sail, in warm weather
and a setting sun does the trick.
