Dobler Construction Progress

Today marks day 21 of the Dobler boatbuilding saga. I have not been
keeping track of my hours, but the following has been accomplished:

1. Daggerboard and trunk cut out.
2. Rudder cut out.
3. Mast blanks and sprit blank cut and ready for shaping -- mast step
and partner cut out.
4. Frames and panel stringers constructed, building jig built and
frames set up on jig. I'm putting the frames on the jig today. I
tried earlier, but leveling them up is a two man job and I don't have
enough hands or clamps to make up for my limitations.
5. Side and bottom panels cut and ready to put on frames. (I am
hoping to have her ready to tape the seams by Sunday).

Last count, I had approximately $500 in the boat and about $150 of
that in xynole (I am going to "glass" the entire exterior), epoxy,
fiberglass tape for the seams, fairing compound, scrapers, rollers,
etc. I will not buy a sail for the boat this year, but use
Inscrutable's lateen. I do need to buy a trailer yet, and if anyone
has any suggestions on that, I would appreciate it. The boats trailer
weight should not exceed 250 lbs. While 16'4" long, the bottom is
flat and only 14'6" or so and 24" wide at its greatest breadth. With
the cost of the trailer, I do not expect the project to exceed $1K.
Not too bad, I'm thinking.
