Just for the record, you can still get to Jerry from here, including a cart.

I'm pretty sure what that means is that Jerry didn't pay his bill to the
host of his pages. If he pays up, the pages will be back online, if not...
It's kind of sad to see the business Bernie built up being run into the

No man will be a sailor who has contrivance enough to get himself
into jail; for being in a ship is being in a jail, with the chance
of being drowned... A man in jail has more room, better food, and
commonly better company. <Samuel Johnson>
I am not sure what it means but the CSD website has been suspended. There is
a strange note form if you need to communicate with them. Just thought youall

Following the latest set of complaint I to will be removing CSD from the
Micro Trawler Web page.
Even though I got my plans from CSD they were of poor photo quality copy.
Fair Winds & Following Seas,
And I will sail my vessel, til the river runs dry.
Like a bird upon the wing, these waters are my sky.
I'll never reach my destination, if I never try.
So I will sail my vessel, until the river runs dry.

Well I decided, I ordered Big Dory plans from CSB by snail mail
today. Elaine and I look pretty silly rowing around in our Nymph
the "Ada E", we should fit in the Big Dory much better. Nice sheer
lines too. I included my stale dated CSB cheque for $9.50 as part of
the total and the rest by bank draft. Two country's post offices, a
return snail package, customs delays, how long will it all take, if
indeed it takes at all? I'll post something when I get the plans or
in a month if I don't.

Not too recently. I got my Micro plans from them last May (2001). It
may be interesting to note it's no longer CSD, now its Common Sense
Boats. Don't know if that's important or not.
Anyway, I've got this cheque for $9.50 USD that is now stale dated,
I'll order something from him by mail and include it as partial
payment to see if he honours it. Can't decide between Micro Trawler,
Big Dory or Idaho. Of course, that's always the problem:
too many boats - too little time.

Bruce,
Sounds like you've done okay with CSD. How recently?
( This may be coffee_lounge material but ) I think anyway that there is a difference
between the Bolger's being aggrieved and being able to do anything practical about it
themselves, isn't there?
It would matter to me. So I wrote Jerry Estes once to get his point of view on the
controversy and was just ignored, from which I've only drawn the negative conclusion that
I will not buy from him no matter how good the deal may seem.

I've had no trouble whatsoever with any of my dealings with common
sense. My Fishcat, Micro and Long Micro plans came from them, were
clear, had complete building keys from Phil and arrived promptly.
Ditto for plans I've purchased from PB&F. My Hawheye, Chebacco Glass
House and Sneakeasy plans were of great quality. Perhaps a bit above
CSD's, but none of CSD's were impossible to read. As always I made
photocopies for shop use and kept the originals in their envelopes.
I even recieved a rebate cheque from Jerry Estes (sp?) for the 10%
difference in price from his starting a sale after I'd ordered some
plans at full price.
As for the controversy over where to order plans, I think that if
he's selling anyting illegal, it's being done very much in the public
eye and if PB&F don't see any reason to institute legal proceedings
to stop him or seek compensation for his businesses practices, I
don't see why I as a consumer should be concerned.
As they say on TV, That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

This is consistent with several reports here over the last couple of years. Can anyone say
if they were satisfied with a CSD transaction recently?
The web site is up tonight. I notice Jerry recently moved from inner Portland down the
river about 20 miles. Are you using this contact info?

CSD double billed me a while back and I have been getting a lot of

to pay but no money. They quit answering email. Today I tried to call
again and the phone has been disconnected. The web site seems to be
