Re: Gypsy boatbuilding- Oh MY !

Darrl, I must warn you now that mentioning your epiphany to non-
proselytizing boat building zealots may result in your incarceration
and subsequent heavy psycho drug therapy. If you have a significant
other, I can warn you first hand about boredom, mounting anger and
being marked persona non grata for indulging your new found craft at
the expense of your relationship with them. You must seek balance
when interacting with people who don't share the love of boat
building.

All kidding aside, welcome to the fraternity of wood boat builders.
It is a truly magical moment when instead of visualizing you actually
see the results of your effort. There is no twelve step program to
cure you of your new found addiction. The great thing is since you
have accomplished so much now that your sanity is not affected by
your addiction. May you build many more boats and may each one give
you greater satisfaction than the last one.

Welcome to the magic kingdom. Poof, it's a boat can become quite a
thrill.

Last week I finished cutting out the Gypsy hull and I was wondering how are
these flat panel pieces going to make a boat ( this is my first boat)....

Today - As I was stringing the panels together, I was interrupted by a bath
room urging-
and upon my return to my shop........ I noticed there was a hull in my
garage....where did that hull come from ?, not just any old hull...but a
hull that I had built ! and it looked like the gypsy hull that I had spent
so many evenings staring at in the book.....
I was so much into aligning the panels that I hadn't stepped back to look at
what was taking shape.

My God.. I am actually building a boat !
