You might want to check out this site for UHMW scraps at reasonable prices.
He also has all kinds of other plastics and metals as well. I boutht some
UHMW pieces that were 1/4 x 12 x 36 to use to make smooth Carnell
fiberglass/plywood scarf. Worked great.

I called them, they're very nice and are sending me a free sample of 2" x 1/8" x 2' UHMW, which I'm going to cut into washers. I think it helps if one is a buisness when one calls them.
