Scooner scooning by
FBBB --
The light daughter Margaret Ellen and I were out sailing the light
scooner Margaret Ellen today. The wind was from an odd direction
allowing us to go running down along a beach at the lake, daggerboard
up and kick up rudder kicked up.
We scooned by the beach in no more than six inches of water, to the
considerable delight of the sunbathers. Those who we might have run
over moved to deeper water (knee deep perhaps) and smiled as we swept
between them and the shore.
After we made our parade pass, Maggie guided us through a gentle jibe
into deeper water, I replaced the dagger board and we sailed off.
