Re: [bolger] Bolger design plans for a Friendship Sloop
The books (Small Boats, reprinted as part one of Bolger Boats) are out of
print, but they do turn up on the used book search sites now and then.
Master Hand and Monhegan are both in Small Boats, as you suspected. Another
Friendship style sloop is Fancy, a Muscongus Bay sloop published in 30 Odd
Boats. I saw a Monhegan for sale in front of Art's Honey and Wooden Boats
(or whatever they call the place) north of Florence a while back. It was
pretty salty looking! Fortunately the deep draft scared me off, it's
definitely not a trailer boat! <g> I've seen a Fancy at the Port Townsend
Wooden Boat Festival, it's a beauty (but not quite to the plans):

Correlation does not imply causation; except, of course, to your cat.

I think plans are available for an 18' Friendship sloop
called 'Monhegan' and a 22'6" Friendship sloop called 'Master Hand'.
Apparently the designs for both boats are in Bolger's Boats -Part I
(1973).
This is as far as I have got. The book seems to be out of print?? I
have not seen images of the vessels nor do I know if the plans are
still available. I have come across this website and information
serendipitiously. Can someone help me out??
