(which suggests ballast somewhere), shaped to a NACA foil
approximation. 6 years on, there's a slight jam when fully up of one
board, a swift sink of the boot drops it. No other problems. These
boards were =fully= coated with copper-epoxy.
Dan Farmer's Woodwind, now Paul Newton's, I understand has some rot
firing up in the lower cases, not the boards. I don't appear to have
any problem despite permanent freshwater (yet), may be the copper-epoxy
near to below the waterline again, also epoxy encapsulation everywhere
else.

Thinking about the recent warped and aluminum centerboard discussion(s),
and noting that Bolger specifies plywood and aluminum laminated
bilgeboards on the AS 29 (and probably the Loose Moose II as well), have
there been any failures or warping problems with those in any existing
boats? Indeed, have the bilgeboards in the existing boats been built to
plan, or have builders used alternative methods, and how have these
faired? I fuzzily recall some reports (in the old _Common Sense News_,
maybe?)about problems with Dan Farmer's prototype AS-29, but it may have
concerned the bilgeboard boxes and not the boards themselves,
Thanks,
