Congratulations Brent.

I saw a Gypsy sailing in Channel Is. Harbor yesterday. Was that you?

Reed
Took the Gypsy out for it's first sail
this weekend.

Wow, what fun. We spent about three
hours under sail. Each of the kids
had an hour with me and I had
an hour to myself. I had one joint
separate when we were moving fast on a
beam reach. I also found a couple of
other minor issues to deal with: Luff
tie system too tight (won't slide when
trying to douse the sail). Tiller
extension came undone. Seat
mounts came loose. I told my buddy
and he said "It's not really sailing
if you don't break something."

Did discover that launching off
a beach directly onto a close
hauled course is a pain in
the #$%%##. Next time I'll choose
a beach where I don't have to
launch directly into the wind....
