seehttp://www.bateau.com/plans/small/D4.php3.There are
free plans, or you can buy more detailed plans. I built ours
for my daughter as a prototype for a school project, where
we built a further three.

The D4 is a basic 8ft pram, nothing particularly unique about
her, but she is quite attactive and about as much boat as you
can reasonably expect for the length. I chose her as a good
boat for kids - very stable, simple, masses of bouyancy, no
boom, sail has a low centre of effort.

I have rowed her with two adults, three kids and a dog and
she was steady as a rock with plenty of freeboard. I can stand
up and walk about in her!

The D4 would make a good tender, and she goes together
very well.

I am getting quite excited about it. Can't wait to check out the
schooner in a stiff sea breeze. Woo hoo!

Bruce , what is a D4. I looked up that CK 17 web site . It looks
quite interesting . Having looked at the profile and plan my mind has
formed certain opinions regarding sailing and handling . it would be
good to see one up front to see if my thoughts ( which I am wisely
keeping to myself) are on the mark. Does yuor mate have a email or

Chers paul.
