To my knowledge, no.
I recommend contacting
PB&F directly, as they
seem to favor the Deutz air
cooled diesel and Sonic
Cat outdrive. Used in
Tahiti and Sitka Explorer

I bet they would favor
a similar set up as a
power option for several
of their power sharpie
designs. All they would
need is a kick in the pants
from someone actually
willing to proceed with
such a project.

Bless you, Friend...
This is just the look I was needing....I wonder if this was done for any other "State" class power sharpies...?

The Dakota hull has several
layouts and invites many more.
The sketch at the URL below
has in inboard motor with
drive shaft.

Jo Norm,
I don't believe MAIB offers back issues. If you know what you want
specifically they will send you an xerox copy. However I am getting
rid of all my MAIB magazines. Where are you"

I know from speaking with
PCB&F that they are looking
for someone to commission
design work on a version
of Dakota with inboard diesel
power. [Probably like Tahiti
which has the Deutz diesel
F3L1011 air cooled 29hp motor
and the Sonic Cat stern drive.]

Peter,
Many thanks...I think I now know what my weekend will be spent with drawing in CAD...
Realizing, of course, that this is to be a MODEL (1/8 scale) I may have to cajole PB into a sketch showing diesel or even electric power...you know, the more I look at this design, the more I see SLIPPER LAUNCH....go figure...

30-Odd Boats: 38' 9" steel sharpie schooner.
If, when I die and get to the Pearly Gates, St. Peter says I have
been just good enough to get one afternoon sailing a single Bolger
boat of my choice, it might just be Lion's Paw. I think the amusement
value for a day would be extrememly high. On the other hand, living
with her failings (typical sharpie failings) forever might be
tedious, and I would go with a better all-round sailing boat for an
eternal choice.

The first one that comes to mind immediately is Sitka Explorer. See
"messing about in BOATS" 8/1/02 issue.

Point well taken...yes, I meant to refer to power sharpies...
Is the Lion's Paw in our archives, or in any of the PB books?

I guess you mean a power sharpie, but, just to be a wise guy, I'll
point out that the Lion's Paw sailing sharpie has inboard power.

Hello to all in the Group...I had NO idea that there were this many
PB fans...feels good to be "home"
Sacreligious as it may sound, has PB ever drawn a sharpie cruiser
with INBOARD power?
Thanks!
