OT Dancing Yahoo Advertisements
This is off-topic, but relates
to the Bolger Group: For many
months I have been annoyed about
the intrusive advertising Yahoo
inserts while reading messages
using my IE web browser.
Yahoo uses embedded images,
including animated gifs, which
can be controlled by Webwasher
and other ways; ...and they use
the more annoying Macromedia
Flash object.
The embedded Macromedia Flash
objects bugged me. Then
it occured to me that my only
use of Macromedia Flash, that I
can think of, is to allow my
browser to present me with
dancing advertisments. Well,
thanks but no thanks! So,
I figured that maybe I can do
without Macromedia Flash.
I ran the 'uninstall' program
that Macromedia provided, and
find that Yahoo substitutes
gif's if you don't have Flash
installed, and that they try
to get you to install Flash
again. Oh well..., not perfect
but better.
This is a pointer to the Windows
uninstall program. [watch for URL
