Re: [bolger] Re: Looking for plan view of Bolger Superbrick

Don't know if its been mentioned yet, but here is a plan view of the
legendary Superbrick,

Ken
Thanks again... and there is another good reason to track down a copy
of Boats With and Open mind. I actually put that title on a book in
the 3D cabin of the "virtual" AS-29 I built for Virtual Sailor. It's
sitting on the folding table... but I really ought to get a copy.

And yes on the catalog... It's "Common Sense Designs: Boats you can
build". From when Bernie Wolfard was in charge of selling plans. Rich.

I guest you are looking at an
old Common Sense Designs catalogue?

You should also check out the PCB
Superbrick writeup in Chapter 68
of his excellent book _Boats With
an Open Mind_, which is still in
print. The book includes small
copies of several of the plan sheets.
Thank you, John... those pics are exactly what I was looking for.
Perfect for CAD modeling of the boat. When I get it done, I'll post
the info here for download.

I was really surprised that the sides are straight fore/aft. I had
imagined that they were tapered, ala Micro. But true to the
description in the catalog, it is a "sailing houseboat". Really cool
idea for us who like sailing... but even more than that, love sitting
in a cove somewhere, in a big comfy cabin.

Thanks again... Rich.

Try this URL or ask Phil Bolger I'm sure he wouldn't mind. It could
make sales start up.

I wanted to make a 3D model of the Superbrick, and all I have is the
side view from the 1992 catalog. Does anyone have even a simple line
drawing, with internal details?

I modeled an operating, 3D, AS-29 for Virtual Sailor, and wanted to
do the same for the Superbrick. The AS-29 can be downloaded from
http://www.avsim.com/vs.It's a great way to get some feel for a boat
you may never own, or even see.

I was also wondering if anyone knows if this boat was ever built. The
only reference I have been able to find was of the boat's specs... no
pictures or descriptions of actual boats. Thanks... Rich
(helio6@...).
