Re: squareboat dinghy done

As I recall, it's about 7' X 3.3'(to fit a narrow ramp) X 16", but
that's approximate. It's intended only as a tender to carry two adults
and a bit of stuff, though there's a lot of extra bouyance from the
high sides (I hope they are not too high for rowing). Lots of rocker,
same curve as curve of sides. I tried to keep it small so it would be
light without any exotic ply. I suspect it would sail ok, but with a
slow top speed, but I don't think we'll be making that conversion. I
made the gunwhales on the inside only to fit that narrow ramp.

I have just about completed a small square dinghy as well. I'm curious as to
the dimensions of yours and what you expect from her.

My version is 7.5 x 3.6 or so. Sides are about 14" high. I'm going to row the
boat and maybe try a small sail on her.

You?

Mike Masten
Today I finished my squareboat dinghy or whatever you want to call it.
Well, ok, I have to put buttons on the oars and let the paint dry.
Will have to take some pictures in a day or so. Testing maybe Thursday
or Friday, delivery maybe Saturday. It should not take me so long to
make a dinghy, but it's done. Used a lot of extra time chasing after
cheap wood and glassing that wood. My first design and first boat
built from scratch. (Earlier pictures and blurb in bolger 2 files)
