I built and fished a Glen L Hunky Dory stretched to 24'. I liked it a
lot better than a friends Carolina Dory. I had a cabin and cuddy on the
bow but eventually I cut that off and made a bow picker out of it. It
sat on a set net really well in that configuration, even in some pretty
rough weather.

Mark that fits what I saw up here a number of months
ago under the "What the heel is that! Kind of boat?" I
saw it up here at a distance but it fits what I saw!

It's got some good ideas I would like to know how fast
is it and with what kind of HP.

Interesting though in terms of how people are tying into OUR
designers. Atrim being a well know multihull guy.
How about a Carolina dory style cuddy - or for that matter, build a
Carolina dory.

I'd like a double ender shaped like the house and back end of the pod.

Hi Clyde,

Wow thanks - that just might be the ticket alright. My friend already
has a 35 hp motor I believe.

Michalak is doing some incredible designs these days.

Am also looking at Twister as a sheltered-water, low-powered river
cruiser.

Enlarge DG and you have the original FMS hull, which you miht be able to
reduce to get the length. Clyde

There are four pictures of the DG in the photos section of this
site. I've searched and searched for the name of owner/builder but
havn't been able to figure out how to contact him as there are no
I.D. clues except that his name is Paul. Im a virgin with a computer
and new to all of this, but would like to contact him. The only ID
is his first name: Paul. Can anyone help?

Thank You

I Love My Diablo
in all but a nasty chop. It will knock your teeth out. I also
almost flipped her once going headfirst into a head sea that was
larger than I thought. four footers at the end of the jetty! oops.

I had put on a 2X2 keel on her to see if she would track better at
slow speeds. It did not help that much and it seemed like we caught
fewer fish than when we could just drift sideways. For what its
worth. I pulled it off and filled the holes this week. Last shot at
stripers this weekend.

I don't know the DiabloGrande except for looking at the plans, but I
did spend a lot of time in skiffs off San Diego. I think the Diablo
would be a good fast and cheap way to get on the water. That flat
bottom could be a little rough in the afternoon chop, but the run
home is usually down wind.

If you're not set on tack and tape, PCB's Fisherman's Launch might be
work a look. He's got versions from 16 to 25 feet. My recollection is
your power plant is sufficient. I think the boat could be easily
addapted to Parkers "new coldmolding" and you'd have a hell of a nice
boat when you were done.

Of course there's no reason not to turn out a quick and dirty Diablo
to tide you over while you work out the fisherman's launch. It's a
cheap and fast to build hull and most everything could be tranfered
to your Launch when it was done.

YIBB,

David

I am formulating the necisary elements for building a Grande (Wifes
OK, $$, Time, Space, etc) and wanted to know if there were any folks
out there who have built one? Id love some pictures if you have
built one! But also I am looking for some been there done that
expericenes with the boat. I live in Southern California and Plan to
use a 40 horse 4 stroke outboard on it and will be using it on the
ocean (i.e not flat like a lake or river) I like a little more
freeboard so was going to add 3-6 inches to the sheer. Any
sugestions?
Thanks!
