Scooner Pictures

A couple of pictures of the "Margaret Ellen" as a bastard Cat Ketch
http://www.crumblingempire.com/scooner/boat-southlake.jpg
Shows the Light Cat Ketch "Margaret Ellen" scooning by the beach with
the boat's namesake, my daughter Margaret Ellen in the foreground.
Sharpie sailors take note: the boat is in about 6 inches of water,
board up, rudder kicked up.

Shows my sister and I out in the "Margaret Ellen" with the Teal
"lil'winnie" in tow. The teal had gotten loose and was tied to a
mooring across the lake. Nora and I sailed over in the scooner, put
the teal in tow. To give you an idea just how fast the scooner is,
even beating in a light breeze the teal was on plane behind the
scooner. When we were reaching back to the beach, the teal looked
more like a water ski than a boat.
I've got some new old sail and should be able to stitch together a
new suit (main, fore, jib, staysail) in the next few weeks.

David
