Re: [bolger] Houseboat 481

Doc,
I should have added that the Dec.’14 issue of MAIB shows that sequence’s summary with the basic visuals for each proposal.  More such on that hull-geometry are conceivable.

Doc.
no hard knowledge on how many #481s are out there.

Have you looked at #636 CHAMPLAIN ?
Boats that look like ‘boats’ are at times more welcome than ‘shanty-boat’-visuals.
Power-requirements are the same, with some extra building-effort.
However, that sharp bow also adds to her utility to also including larger lakes- and coastal wave-action.
Furthermore, in MAIB between Feb.’14 and Dec ’14 I did a series of CHAMPLAIN-based studies based on adding over 5 feet to her stern for either a fine luxurious afterdeck, or a range of different layouts on that hull-concept.

Not sure if Paul McLellan monitors the group but I'd sure like to hear a long term review of Bolger's Houseboat 481.

I'm pondering a retirement project and the whole trailerable houseboat concept makes a lot of sense for economical travel, especially if your destinations are water based.

I wonder if any others have been built? Appreciate any input others have on the design too...

Thanks!

Are there any photos anywhere of a completed Bolger Houseboat? I would
like to see one completed.

Thanks
