Norm,
Firebrand #388 (30-Odd Boats) is nearly identical to Sneakeasy.
The most striking differences are the full beam ducktails, the foredeck is
a canvas over light framing that is lower-crowned than Sneak,
and no windscreen or tall cockpit coaming. To me, the lower crown looks
better.
It was designed to use a steam boiler/engine that the commissioner owned.
Bolger took the design on the contingency that the fee would be refunded
if the boat would not outrun a rival steam launch in the builders home
waters,
the target speed was 12 knots with the 6hp steam engine.
If I get my scanner working I will Bolger3 the chapter, I also have to put
up
Kotick for Bjorn.
