martha jane in french canals

>my friend werner munz bought a partially finished mj
and finished it off as a powerboatwith stand up cabin.
last may he shipped it antwerp from s fl. to do the
french canals, hes now back in fl. says her had a good
time but dont ship to antwerp belgium is wet and
industrial and it too him three weeks of fighting tugs
big wakes and bad weather to get to central france on
the Saone where he left the boat in a marina to start
next summer. shipping costs were $1,600 in a
container, free tie ups on the canals and all lockage,
he did dozens of locks and now 25 dollares a month to
leave it in the marina on dry land. he says the french
canals are wonderful and he will head next summer
south towards the med. said the boat made an excellent
canal boat he has evenrude 9.9 4 stroke says he used
1.1 liter of petrol per hour at around 6 mph no
problem getting gas or food on the canals, people
friendlky but lotsof small rural villages losing
population to the cities..... my bantam is now
finishedf even got the locks on the doors, a great
boat for those of you who want, shade, comfort, room,
trailerability and performance inexpensively im very
happy with it. john
