Re: Who Wants A "Free" Micro To Finish?

FWIW, I just got off the phone
with the guy giving away the
partially completed Micro hull
and I will be picking it up
this Friday. I need to rent a
flatbed trailer, find my lost
trailer ball, acquire a few ratchet
tie-downs, and god knows what else!
According to ATT's "reverse directory" at www.anywho.com, the address
for that phone number is 3227 Withers Ave., Lafayette CA 94549.
Yahoo maps shows the address to be about 17 miles NE of downtown
Oakland.
Go for it Bruce. I'm not too far away, have some lead and was thinking
of a Navigator version.... My problem is space. I was going to see if I
could shift some junk this weekend before I called the guy to see if it
was still available...

Let me know if it is and you're not taking it....

I sent the guy "Reni" an email. Also, I
spoke with his wife on the phone. She
couldn't/wouldn't explain much, but the
hull seems to still be there, and I
will wait for Reni to reply to my email,
(after he returns from work).

The (925) areacode, if I am not mistaken,
is in the "East Bay" area of the Greater
San Francisco Bay Area, an hours drive
from my house. [non-rush hour traffic :)]

Due to complex personal reasons, my
best intentions building my Micro
Navigator keep getting delayed. A tried
and true plain Micro seems really
neat too, and upgrading it to a Navigator
isn't ruled out at some point in the
future should I feel the whim.

Thus, getting a partially completed
Micro hull, to join with my 400 lbs cast
lead ballast, might be a match made in heaven.
As I said if I could have traveled the 300 miles it would be mine
now but that is impossible at this time. I hope things can work out
Bruce because it would be a terrible waste for a 75% built Micro to
become land fill fodder.

Yes. A perfect fit, I have an
already cast Micro lead ballast/keel,
in need of a hull.
I think the (925) area code
is in my neighborhood too!
My guess is because it is free.

To the group,

Mat had made an interesting post in the Bolger 4 sale group and I
called the owner of the boat. It is 75% finished and he has used the
best materials so far. He was building the boat for his father but
his father has a disability that has worsened and Reni the builder
has sustained a back injury making the project impossible to finish
by him. The boat is in the SF Bay Area at this time. Believe me
Ladies and Gentleman I would be picking this treasure up if I didn't
have major back surgery scheduled in the next month.

The hull has been glassed and all the material for finishing except
the spars are there. Reni told me his wife has given him till the
26th of December or the boat will be hauled to a land fill. Lets not
let a Bolger boat die like this. Here is the add as it was written by
Reni Archibald, "FREE BOLGER MICRO 15.5. 75% complete. Best grade
materials. Needs decks, paint, lead. Or use it as a fishing boat.
(925) 979-1780". I would kick myself but I might injure myself more.
I am sure someone wants a Micro here and you'll never beat the cost!
