Lists, Bans and democracy

Lists are a great thing, but they do not run themselves. I would like
to praise all of the moderators for doing the best they can, and while
they may not be perfect (some stink, but not here!!!) they are willing
to do the job. I think that gives them a great deal of latitude to run
things the way they want. If it gets out of hand, I can always leave
and find another list or start my own.

So if lists are a democracy, moderators willing to do the work and who
still catch grief from those who aren't, should get at least 49% of the
vote on running things.

While I hate to see anyone banned, there are frequently good reasons,
and with the current state of Yahoo software there are apparently bad
reasons, too. I like to know why so I can avoid the same trouble, or
sometimes to get in the same trouble. I am just nosey (it's my job,
sorry).

So Cheers to the moderator, may he always be right, and if he is worng,
Cheers to him anyhow!

(note clever boating reference--->) I just hope he isn't a Captain
Bligh, feeling annoyed because the mutineers kept the Bricks and Gypsies
while letting him sail away in Tupperware!!!

(note: thhis is a feeble attempt at humour, not a diatribe on the
history of the British Navy vs Hollywood!!)
