Re: Three-Meter Multihull

Take a look here:

http://www.carlsondesign.com/projects.html#Pirogue

Plots for amas are included in Gregg's shareware Hulls program.
Downloadable plans for the Priogue are over on Craig O' Donnell's
site (you'll still owe PCB a royalty for building):

It's not 3-meter, but a small multi just the same....

This isn't an easy boat to build either. It would be dead easy once
the panels were built, and they would be relatively easy to build
with strip plank, but if one was going to plank it, these shapes
wouldn't probably be the starting point.

Talking to John Marples is always a pleasure, so you might phone him
if you want to take it that far. He doesn't do email.

I checked it out and the plans are expensive and the building technique is beyond my skills.

In PCB's book, that's who he refers to as having built a demonstrator. I think I'll plug his name in Google and see what turns up. Thanks.

Kurt Hughes sells plans for a 3 meter tri and some other small tri
daysailers. See here:

I think John Marples has one too, in fact I think he invented the class.

Let me refer you to the article at Duckworksmagazine.com regarding my
Windsprint which I converted into a tri. I don't use pedals, but I can sit
anywhere on the boat. I also refer to the Windrider 16.

In PCB`s `Boats with an Open Mind`, 1994, on page 31, mister Bolger discusses the plans for a 3 meter trimaran. Just the other day I was reading about the WindRider trimaran in Florida. It seems to have quite a following. There is a 10 foot model of the WindRiderhttp://www.windride.com/wr10.shtmland it`s just about identical to mister Bolger`s cartoon in BWAOM. How can I find out if he ever fleshed an actual construction plan for this trimaran? Does anyone know of any other place that has a similar plan? The idea of sitting there completely safe and steering with two foot-pedals is interesting.
