Whatever it was,it worked everytime ;-)
Actually, they had a huge cable secured to a special bracket under the
boat which in turn was lead through a big pulley anchored to the
river bed and then across to the near shore where a group of fellows
pulled or slacked according to the directors call.It took one whole
day of of practice/setup and another whole day just to shoot that one
scene.

P.S I'll try and get some pictures scanned for your kids Paul.

The kids would love a scannned piccy with the odd character, but if
not they wiil have to wait for the official story.

You don't need that big 20hp Just a couple of broomsticks and millie
to power them. Ah! a new stealth boat in the making. LOL

My goodness! When I saw that transom I thought I was watching Das
Boot!
What fun! I once rented some flytying stuff to a shoot for a beer
commercial. 15% a week, what a great deal. Nearly paid for school
that year.

Hi Paul,
The program is actually a British production, which filmed some
episodes here in Canada thanks to some generous tax payer funded
grants.
The Micro in question is mine, aka LESTAT.The power plant is
indeed a 20hp beast needed to navigate some fast water(rapids) during
the filming.

For various reasons, the director needed only the mainmast
for"effect" and requested the mizzen be left off of her.Since there
were no sailing shots,he could have easily gone without any spars at
all :-)
I have a whole slew of pictures taken throughout the filming
and I feel there is a tale waiting to be told about this entire
experience.Perhaps one day,I'll get orginized enough and submit it to
Chucks E-zine DUCKWORKS.
By the way, this is two part episode,so maybe you'll see more
today? Also, despite over 7 days worth of filming,LESTAT hardly shows
up all that much :-(.
At any rate, hope you liked the show.It apeals to the child in
all of us!
