UHMW is that hard plastic
similar to the white plastic
you find in some cutting boards.
It has excellent abrasion resistance
and low friction.
I bought mine as 'scraps'
on eBay see for instance:

I plan to install UHMW on the bottom
of the boat in stragegic places so
I can drag it around the shop. Also,
I will install some, located "just so"
to provide abrasion resistance
with the float in my marina slip.

Beautiful Todd, I can only hope that "Riff-Raff" will turn out half
as well. Looks like superb workmanship and a nice finish too!

I posted pics of my freshly painted micro sea green and fire red
under Todds micro in the photo's section. If anyone one is intrested.
I know its not original but i like the look should look really sharp
with the tan bark sails. Still need to finish painting the cockpit.
