Re: hello from Hobart

Sound like a great show. What are the dates for next year? I just
might have to go, its summer there now, right? Ah, warm Oz-ian
lasses, cold Foster's with the dew sliding down the sides, and hot
wooden boats, Yep I think that's the proper priorities.

Keep a crate of the amber throat chamer in the cooler for me, I'll be
there ....

I'm writing from Hobart wooden boat festival. Had to let you all
know what its liketo see 300 local wooden boats in one day. the
highlight has been a Bolger folly in strip celery top pine. , not a
singl flat panel .
I chatted tio the owner who said it was his 4th bolger, all strip
construction. he is selliing this one to buy the epoxy for the next
bolger.
hold your breath people, AUS $3400 for the smoothest most beautiful
boat in the show.
yoyu could probably take it home to the US for that priice. it has
the most amazing woodworkm iive ever seen.
When I was given the air tcket to Hobart my wife said it was on the
basis of I could onlly buiild the new boat with what Ii had in the
shed. Ie thin strips, canvas and string. I found 4 Bidouka designs in
the first hour. After 3 days of this my body is startiing to hurt.
Yes I am takiing photos.
tommorow I have been roped into a regatta wiith 700 boats on the
Derwent. crewed on 2 tall ships so far.
