Re: [bolger] Re: Closed cabin idaho

jetski powered maybe, but with the turning radius, it would be a killer on the turns. great for straight drag races though. I like the reverse transum as well, was one of the things that got me hooked. keep me posted.

Soon as I finish my other project.I should have a good idea or plan
for building a power sharpie. I like the reverse bow sharpie idea
like the one pictured in bolger2.

Best to ask Mr.Bolger himself.

How about a jet powered hydrofoil sharpie. MORE POWER.....

Have you seen the Bolger Minnesota? Very 30ish looking, conventional
cabin layout, the Bolger twist? It's head is in an "outhouse" at the
stern! Looks good though.

Check it out in Bolger2/scans/Bolger Scans/

Todd,

Seems we are looking for the same boat. Are you just browsing, or are you planning to build soon? I've been trying to sketch out some measurements, but it has beem difficult. Willing to swap a few ideas?

Yes that is exectly what I was looking for . I want the plans to
build a boat just like his raised deck idaho but slightly shorter
maybe 28'. Does he still own this boat? Maybe he would like to sell
it!? I love that 30' s look if that is what it is.

Yes a raised deck sneakeasy with a little more width to compensate
for the extra height. Wouldn't the width with the flat rocker just ad
in planning area and stability? Not extremely wide. Just go wide
enough to correct for cg.

I get the impression that weight and CG height are of a lot of concern to PCB
on these narrow power sharpies. You might consider faxing him what you are
after interested in. I bet he comes back with a suggestion of a Retriever or
Champlain.

I know that Fritz's Sneakeasy might be good for beach camping, especially
with the wheels but you would loose the whole character of the boat trying to
put a cabin on it. The added weight and windage would be real problems also.
As built it is very lite.

Most of PCB's designs have a specific goal or use. Changes to the design that
change the focus probably won't work, as he discards anything that gets in
the way of the intended concept.

If you want a narrow, easily driven overnight cabin boat, ask him. I know
that he sent Seth Macinko some proposed changes to the cabin of the Tennessee
to make it a better cruiser in this part of the world.

And the definitive raised deck, cabin Idaho, Mr. Turtle over in
Bolger 2, owned by the same Bolgerista who just built the Bantam
houseboat "Pelican".

Looks pretty 30ish, no?

Welsford "Seaugull".
Try these. There are many other sites that I have been looking at as well. I want to design a sneakeasy type boat with the fins on the back, but woiuld like to add a cabin to it as well. Maybe we could get together and design one. E-mail me if you wish.
