Re: [bolger] Re: jigsaw blades

. Lenox makes Bosh style blades, bayonet style, Makita style, as well as
the universal style. Its possible that packages them for Lee Valley.

I think that Lee Valley may sell them. They sell something special.
I have a Boasch saw, and the blades that come for those are made
about the same ground not stamped, but they aren't by-metal
Chuck,

They are good blades, aren't they? Thanks for reporting.

They are:

#BT320JC 3" X 3/16" X .050, 20 TPI. retail $3.64 ea.

#BT450J 4" X 5/16" X .050, 10 TPI retail $3.97 ea.

TPI means teeth per inch. More cuts smoother, less cuts
faster.

They are made by:
American Saw and Mfg. Co.

Website is:

http://www.lenoxsaw.com/

Lenox should be able to tell you who distributors are in your area. They
are not usually found in retail stores as they cost more than the std DIY
product. They are still a good buy since they also last two or three times
longe.

Guys, I did not do this to sell products but if you have no
luck finding the blades let me know and I will help you out.
I'd be glad to sell them to the boat group at 25% off the
retail price. They are shrink wrapped two to a pack.

Plumbing wholesalers sell Lenox by the truckload but
probably don't stock this blade. Industrial wholesalers
might and either one could order them for you.

You guys may remember that James Fuller of this list offered free jigsaw blades to the first few requests. Luckily, I happened to be reading mail about the time he posted, and was one of the first to respond. I got the blades the other day, and I could not believe my eyes when I opened the package.

I use my jigsaw quite a bit in my work, and I am used to blades that look like they are stamped out of sheet and have some sort of set mashed into them. They are always painted to hide the flaws. These blades are ground on every surface to a precision edge. They sparkle like jewels, and they cut like crazy!

I'm not sure what the name and model number of the blades I got is, so hopefully, James will post that information as a reply to this. How about it, James? What are the specifics, and where can I get some more?

Chuck

PS Thanks for posting that offer, James. I would never have discovered these things otherwise.
