The best part of Mouseboats is they're FREE! thanks to Gavin Atkin,
the guy who designed them and made them public via the internet. Now
it's an "open-source" boat with many variants and some devoted
followers.

Visit the Yahoo Mouseboat group homepage and join up:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mouseboats/

In the "Files" section of that group, with a little searching, you'll
find John Bell's fractional panel expansions for the original 8'
Mouse. (I can e-mail these to you directly if you like, as an 8K
PDF.) Those are the easiest plans to read. Also, just viewing the
animated GIF on the group homepage is very instructive.

Finally, Duckworks sells plans, plus full building instructions by
Gavin, for $20 I think. www.duckworksmagazine.com

All best,
Garth

John's renditions of Gavin's great little boats are very well presented.

The 8' original.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mouseboats/files/Mouse%20Designs/08%27%20Boats/Mouse%20Expansions/mouse_expansions_fractional.PDF

He's also done the 12 ft Cruising Mouse.

And, somewhere in the files, his own, deeper sterned, Motor Mouse.

Do join. It is a very pleasant gang.

How much would you ask for a set of those plans?
garthab <garth@...> wrote:OK, they're not a Bolger design -- but they sure are Bolgerish in
inspiration. Yesterday I put together two Mouseboats with my
daughters. Got the interior seams taped while the sun shone. Tomorrow
I'll do the outside, and we'll be painting them the next warm day.

Here's a little photo album I put up, for all you Bolger builders
thwarted by the long winter and looking forward to making boats:
http://www.breakawaybooks.com/building_two_mouseboats.htm

It's five photos of 30-40K each -- not too long a load time.

All best,
Garth
