promoting "build it yourself"
Add-on to my earlier posting: By the way, requested display of owner-built
boat(s) at the September Seattle "Sailfest" boat-show is not necessarily if
you want to sell it -- that's irrelevant! (If you ARE thinking of selling
your boat, I'm sure nobody would object to a discreet sign or two....)
That's not the underlying purpose of exhibiting -- it's simply to show
others who might be thinking of joining the sport of sailing that "build it
yourself" is a totally accessable, possibly even affordable way of going
sailing. We would like it if builder of boat displayed would be willing to
talk to interested lookers, about the whole building process.... since it's
a five-day show, that's quite a commitment -- maybe we'd need to schedule
different people from this Bolger community, for different times, even if
THEIR boat isn't on display.
