Re: Wiggleboard?

Mark,

I would like to torture it, and then add glass skins relative to what
might be added for 3/8" strip...

Well, TD, this is a question that goes right to the heart of sheet plywood building
theory. Whatever the glue, does a panel like this have the strength of 3/16 ths and the
all the weight 3/8ths inch? Maybe it'll be better than that; it is twice the solid wood
after all.

You can't mean to cold mold with it, do you? Would be something pretty large.

Cheers,
Mark

Not sure if it's the same stuff, but I had some friends who used a
section of uni-directional ply as a dutchman in a hot-molded Thistle
hull, right at the turn of the bilge, hard by the transom. Since both
gents had extensive boatyard experience in Chicago, during the '60s,
I'd bet that they choose a durable ply with marine or exterior glues.

Apparently this is ply with all the lams going in one direction. Any
info on the likely materials and glues used in this stuff? Quality
of veneers and so forth? Comes in 3/8" and I was hoping it might be
bent as severely as say 3/16".

Any opinions.
