My power sharpie "Katie" the "Sneakeasy" will be there most likely!
She is sporting a new windshield and built-in rear seat which doubles
as a locker underneath. Also new upholstered front seats. I'll had
photos within the next week. I am also working on an article of the
refit for Duckworks Magazine.

Anyone can come, with or without a boat. I'll also be sending snail
and/or email invitations to anyone I know of with a particularily
interesting (that sounds so arbitrary, so offer suggestions) boat. To
that end, doeas anyone know of anyone within a 1000 klicks of
Kingston (90 minutes north of Syracuse NY for our American friends)
with a:

Microtrawler
Chebacco
Champlain, or any power sharpies
AS29, or any of the karger sail sharpies (how is Le Cabotin coming
along)

The site, still in investigation, will be accessible to larger boats,
with a navigatable link to the St. Larence Seaway, Great Lakes, Erie
Canal and the enire world! This enables the larger Bolger (and other)
designs to sail right on in.

I hope to see some.

Kingston Nautical Attractions:
Marine Museum of the Great Lakes, with a Bed & Breakfast aboard a CCG
Icebreaker.
http://www.marmus.ca/marmus/mmuseum.html
Pumphouse Steam Museum, with dozens of working engines and a turn of
the century steam cruiser nearing the completion of an extensive
reconstruction.
http://www.marmus.ca/marmus/pumphouse.html
Six or more full service marinas, one in the downtown core.
Three 1000 Island cruise boats, two with dinner cruises,

I'd come. I hope that isn't a deal breaker.
Can't be sure of my schedule, so don't panic yet...

BOUTS (watch the word wrap, you may have to manualy enter the url)
by holding it at the far end of the far too short Canadian boating
season.

Tentative date is Saturday 6 September, 2003 in Kingston, Ontario.
We'll be choosinging from several local sites a usable location with
sheltered waters, beach, camping, washrooms, covered meeting area and
cooking facilities. Planned activities will include a potluck dinner
and extended yarn session in the evening. Either around a campfire or
in a hall depending on the weather.

Details will follow as they get firmed up. Advice, suggestions, and
help all appreciated.

As far as I know, it's just a sordid rumor.

Chuck Leinwebber said some other Kingston boat nut (not me) was
interested. He gave him my email, but I haven't been contacted. It's
a great location, but, and it's a big but, organising one all by
onesself is a hearbreaking amount of work. I'm sure Steve can back me
up on this.

It's the dream, though; 1000 Islands, Rideau Canal, sheltered bays,
beaches, hotels, camping, a hundred restaurants and pubs, free ferry
rides, good transport links, did I mention the pubs.... and my wife
is a pro event organiser. She'd make me do it right, probably just
to "get all the bloody boats out of the yard", if only for a weekend.

Plotting and planning his own demise on the icy shores of the mightly
St. Lawrence River. I went up for a flight on Good Friday and was
dismayed to see the harbour entrance blocked by a big jam of slob ice
that a west wind had blown in. Plus, there' s snow in tonight's
forecast. Dammit!
