Chat anyone?

I'm going into the chat room for about an hour in case anyone wants to join
me. 8:30 pm EDT.

JB
Pep Cruels and Ben_Azo, and I are online now, come on in!
I'll go online in about half an hour, see ya'all around 9 EST.

Bruce Hector
You do not have to sign up. Just click "Chat" from the Bolger home page.
You DO need a Java virtual machine to run the applet. That's pretty easy. If you have a
Mac, choose between the Microsoft and Apple's own. For Win, just use the Microsoft.

You may have to set it in your browser preferences.

It is quite fun,

Mark

check out the messages a little after 03:00 EST......kinda early or
very late for us east coasters but you are correct, with a world wide
membership, someone is bound to up at that time!! We'll see how it
goes then.......

Thanks!

I finally tried Netscape, and it works fine!

O.K. I think(thought) I was getting somewhere since the screen told
me I was loading something called an applette(?).
Anyhow, before the little apple was loaded, the screen then told me I
was not java enabled. Java? How do they know about my coffee
consumption? What gives?!

Anyway, maybe it will work on the computer machine at work
tonight....or,better yet,I should just stick to what I know and quit
playing on my Pesky Crews computer before she gets home and I end up
screwing-up her computer.............rats!!!

Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, who understands where the rain falling outside comes
from but cannot for the life of me understand little apples or java
on a computer, from along the damp shores of the St.Lawrence.......

You too Chuck.

Three hours to figure out what every 10 year olf knows. Geeezzz. I
know you can do it.

Bruce Hector
see ya' circa 10 EST.
We just had a nice chat with 4 bolgeristas. Fisn some small sailboat
Triffle, Light Dory's, Malawi, etc. Ya' should' been there. All live.

I had to drop out, dinner date arriving.

I can't help you much more, I know if you can get to any Yahoo chat
room, you can get to them all. It's probably something (chat applet)
that the kids downloaded that make it so I can do it. Once you're
configured, it's easy.

Keep trying, we'll try again later. Or maybe with 1500 members it'll
be a 24/7 operation once everyone can find a way in.

Bruce Hector
Like everyhing else to do with the dang computers, its really ahrd,
until you figure our what the nerds want you to do. Then its simple.

Peter:

that makes two of us. I went to the Bolger site, and clicked "chat". After some flickering, I was told that I needed to download something called "VM" from Microsoft. There is a link, but the resulting page does not have any download info. I feel like I'm chasing my tail.

Chuck

Arrrrg! Matey,in yer dreams :-D !!!Seriously though, I have gone to
the link provided and can find no place to"sign up". I do,however, get
a long list of general headings.......which heading are we listed
under? Recreational,Hobbies and Crafts etc...?

Dazed and confused,as usual!

The window works for me, and immeadiately loads a chat window.

That may be because I'm already signed up for yahoo chat. Try going
to the yahoo chat home page at
http://ca.chat.yahoo.com/?myHome
Then click on "sign up for yahoo chat", see how that works. Once
you're a chatter those long night shifts will just fly by as you
pretend to be a blonde sixteen year old boat builder from Shawinigan,
or some such.

Bruce Hector
Bruce,
Sure,I'm up all night at work, what the hell BUT how does one get the
thing to work? All I get is a blank page onto which it is impossible
to write anything. Mind you, never having attempted one of these
internet chat devices,I may be doing something basically wrong.Any
advice on how to use the chat feature?
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, restless at the nuthouse once again........

Bruce: For those of us on remote parts of this planet (and thinking upside down) it seems that whatever time you all pick,we will be talking in shorthand . Unkind folk say we do this already so what the heck.....Andy

Bruce:

You are just looking for another way to extort money from us! But since I have already pledged, I guess I'm safe. Why not make it on the weekend, so that we can cover more time zones. Lets see, we have four time zones in the US, then there is Australia....and England.........

You figure something out. I'll try to make it.

Chuck

once in a while. All we'd have to do is say Monday at 7 p.m. est and
click on chat at the left of the website screen. Any takers? Anyone
got a better time and day?
