Terror, Dyeing Tyvek, Superbrick, Plastic Jesus

On Terror: I agree with
choochowaga, the leap of
faith to saw wood is 'mental'.

What you probably don't
realize is that Bolger
designed Teal especially
for the novice boatbuilder.

With the specific intent
of helping the first-time
boatbuilder gain confidence.

On dyeing Tyvek: My hunch is
that, if the painted words on
the Tyvek bother you, throw
the sail away and make a new
sail from all white Tyvek, or
from white polytarp. That will
certainly be more simple, and
probably cheaper than trying
(and failing) to paint what you
already got.

On Superbrick:

I make a '1/2" to the foot' model
of Superbrick yesterday, and
showed it to my S.O. and asked
her:

"Does it look like a boat?"

She responded:

"It looks like a Hummer."

Then we started noticing the
really excellent spaces for
lounging around in the sun
on top of Superbrick.

I now have this model balanced
on the top center of the
dashboard of my car, kind of
like a Plastic Jesus, to
meditate upon while stuck in
the traffic jams of my commute.
