Re: Arresting rot

Try digging out any soggy wood, soaking the rest overnight with
automotive anti-freeze (Prestone, etc, any glycol based one will do,
alcohol based plumbing a/f won't), the glycol not only kills cats (so
clean it up well afterwards) it also kills the rot spores. Let it
dry , brush in some thinned epoxy to penetrate the wood a bit then
slop in thickened epoxy for the repair.

I have some rot in the "core" laminates of my gypsy transom. Is there
some way I can arrest the rot so that I can fill the hole with resin
and try to forget that it's there? All suggestions appreciated.
