I rounded off my mast, [above the mast step box]
and it helps a little bit because the yards

better when the mast is rounded. Though
I bet she would sail fine if the mast was
square too.
I used my belt sander to round and taper the mast,
by rotating the mast with my left hand on my
work bench ... with my right hand operating the
belt sander.

Morning All:
I'm beginning to work on the rigging for my Tortoise and have a question
or two. The plans don't seem to specify if the yard and boom are joined
or if the act of tying them to sail sufficient to keep them aligned
properly. Also the plans state that the mast should be rounded off,
does this mean rounded or simply the corners rounded?
