[bolger] Re: double ender breakdown?

David:

I found it on Databoat:
http://www.databoat.com/cgi-tame/tame.cgi/boatingbooks/boatplans/Strayer/Lon
gsplice.tam?cart=99I13uqp.feu&lpg=%2Fboatingbooks%2FDesigners%2FDesignersLin
ks%2Etam&lpt=937269546

This is their url...it's kinda long. If you can't get it to work, go to:
http://databoat.com/and look for "Longsplice" by Strayer.

Davids:

The Tandem Bricks are shown on page 7 of Boats with an Open Mind. There is
a double skiff somewhere, I will find it, and post it here.

David:
I think the boat you are referring to is featured in this half-month's
"Bolger on Design" in MAIB (Sept 15:Vol. 17, No. 9). I haven't got the issue
with me (I'm at work--yuck!), but the design is about forty feet, with a
cold molded hull, center cockpit, designed for two couples. Only the aft end
can sail by itself, however. Before Wolfard's falling out with Bolger,
Common Sense Designs used to feature the Break Down Schooner, a three-piece,
47'x7'8"x1'6" skiff/sharpie hull with a gaff schooner rig, also with berths
for four. None of the pieces of this one could sail by itself, as I recall.
I guess you could scale up two Bricks, combined with an equally scaled-up
Brick Connector, and have all your dreams fulfilled, not to mention all your
neighbors in the marina throwing things at you. Such a boat would be a
really ugly spud, but might actually work...

Bolger somewhere about a double ended break down sharpie? I fantasize
one that each half would be sailable separate, as well as joined. It
also has the attraction of building two 15 ft boats and get a 30 footer!
Any leads on such a design appreciated.
