If you are going for big orders, then here is the place:
http://www.stright-mackay.com/pages/asp/category.asp?CategoryID=13
You can either order through the distributor in St.Bruno or a buddy
of mine.
If you are looking to do some semi-custom s/s work, you should check
out Century Metal just down the hill in Ville St.Pierre, to your
right before crossing the bridge over the Lachine canal. This is
where you can pick up some s/s parts.
For the machining/welding/cutting of your parts, show up with
drawings to a place called Syncodrive.First class precission machine
shop on St.Patrick street in Lachine. That is,once you've picked out
your "scrap" stainless at Century metal, drive over the bridge, turn
right once across, and head along St.Patrick as if you were going to
Lachine. However,at the last stop sign before turning into Lachine(as
if you wanted to go to Spinnelli's),you carry on straight toward
Rene Levesque parc.Syncodrive will be on your left after Mr.Patate.
Tell them what you want done and tell them it is for a boat, they'll
understand right away.Alot of guys from the yacht club go there for
small odd jobs.It helps too if you are not in a hurry for the
work,so plan accordingly.
It has been awhile since I have had to do anything in stainless but
I've begun checking out a few places on the South shore that seem
promising,if I can believe some of the reports from friends in the
area.
And finally,do not hesitate to check out the yellow pages for places
that may be closer then you think(either to home or work). You'd be
surprised, sometimes, how even the bigger companies always seem to
have a"back store" staffed with one old fart who takes care of all
the oddball, tiny orders for cutoffs and bits-n-pieces etc....
Hope this gets you off in the right direction Marc.
Happy Hunting!!
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, happy to be of service or at least considered"local
knowledge",to a fellow builder/Bolger enthusiast,.......

Can the esteemed Bolgerphiles in Montreal in this group tell me where they
find their stainless steel hardware (bolts, nuts, eye bolts, rods, and so on) in
Montreal?
Marc.
