Re: [bolger] Re: Bolger Catamaran Pictures
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the idea of bring the boat north. But it is still a no go for
me. I appreciate the thought though.
Thanks,
John

Hi,
Thank you for the kind words.
Two or three hp might be a little light, though. The first couple of
years that I owned the boat I used an Evinrude Ducktwin which had about
three horses. It certainly pushed her but I couldn't make it out of the
Annisquam River into Gloucester Harbor. She just hung in the current
with the engine at full throttle while the water slid by her. I
eventually let her back down, got her turned around, and went the other
way. The next engine was a Yamaha 6 and that was just about right. The
engine was both light and had enough oomph. My Garmin GPS showed 8 knots
when she ran flat out with a clean bottom.
The new 4 stroke 8 hp pushes her at about the same speed but is a fair
amount heavier. The combination of my overweight and the additional
weight of the new engine makes her stern sink down a little when she's
running slowly. It is a nice change not to be burning oil to make her
go, however.
Thanks again,
Jim

Hi Group,
The pictures are in an album in pictures in the group Bolger2.
This url should get to them. Watch out for the wraparound cutoff.

Where on Bolger 2 are those pictures? And where is this free boat?

Hi group,
I've just posted a three picture album of some shot of my 15 ft Bolger
Catamaran, "St. Jan, The Martyr" on Bolger2.
She's the boat I'm giving away to anyone who'll take her, sigh.
My resolution is wavering.
