Re: [bolger] micro trailering - extending trailers

You know, it wouldn't take a whole lot of engineering to build an extending
tounge on a trailer, instead of an extension.

You back down the ramp till the back tires of the tow vehicle are just out
of the water. Get out, and if needed, use a small hand winch to extend the
tongue. You would easily get the trailer another 12 feet back into the
water, on a short Micro trailer.

You would leave it extended when parking after launching the boat, unless
they are short parking spaces.

After retieving the boat, you would simply winch the tongue back in,
shortening the trailer by 12 feet or so. On level ground it should be pretty
easy.
