Re: [bolger] 1 or 2 pieces for CSB pirogue mast?
If their 2x2s are like their 2x4s, they will measure 1½ x 1½ and fit the
plan.

The plans call for a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" mast and gaff.
(Yes, they're square, not round.)
The local big-box home reno centre has 1"x2" pine
and 2"x2" pine.
Should I laminate 2 pieces of 1x2 to make the
spars, or just use a straight, knot-less 2x2?
My intuition hints that 2-piece laminated spars
would be less likely to twist or warp over time, but
solid 2x2 spars will take zero time to build.
Or should I just choose the least expensive option,
in this case, the 2x2s?
