Re: TIMS power trials

My friend Leander is still worrying about the latches for his Folding
Schooner. I keep telling him that a Wharram-style lashing would do
the trick.

Would you believe it? Tim Horton's turned me down flat as a sponsor,
despite our son working for them.

If you look carefully in the pic of the lashings, you'll see evidence
of Peter Lenihan's favorite refreshment. Placed in the photo field
solely to give scale to everything, of course! In honour of our
newest sponsor, Ben's Pub.

If it's Canadian, and named "Tim's", were there donuts on board?

:-)

The Infinite Modular Sharpie finally got lashed up with "Timmy The
Tiniest Towboat" joined to "TIMS-01", the sharpie bow unit, yesterday
for trial;s under power with a 9.9 outboard.

First photos are in the TIMS album, of the photo section at my boat

She performed FAR better than I had feared. THe lashings held it
surprisingly steady, and she easily went far beyond her theoretical
hull speed and planed like a banshee! Stable and fun at all power
setting, no problem maneuvering, even in the chop and 15 knot breeze.

I can't wait to try her with more units lashed in, or maybee bolted.
